Huskies Set for Senior Day Showdown Against Marquette

STORRS, CT – The UConn women's lacrosse team will close out the regular season on Saturday at home hosting Marquette at 11:30 on Senior Day with BIG EAST playoff implications on the line. A win and the Huskies will head to the BIG EAST Tournament for the sixth-straight season. A loss and the season will come to an end for the Huskies.
A win and the Huskies will move in the postseason as the No. 3 in next weekend's BIG EAST Tournament that will be played at Denver. The host Pioneers and Georgetown Hoyas are currently tied for first place at 5-0 and will play each other on Saturday with the regular season crown on the line. Marquette sits at 3-2 and has already clinched a post season spot leaving the remaining spot for either the Huskies or Villanova to claim. The Wildcats will need a win over Butler and a UConn loss to clinch a spot.

The Huskies dropped a 19-12 decision to Harvard on Tuesday evening, snapping a three-game win streak to move to 6-9 on the season to close out non-conference play.
Rayea Davis paced the UConn offense with two goals and four assists on eight shots, converting twice from the free-position line. Emma Dacey added a goal and two assists, while Abby Beran led the defensive effort with three caused turnovers and a ground ball. In the draw circle, Barlow Clark-Schoeb controlled six draws to help generate possession opportunities.
Opposition Research
Marquette enters Saturday's match up after a dominant 20-6 senior day victory over Butler last week, clinching its first BIG EAST Tournament berth since 2023. The Golden Eagles controlled the game from the opening draw, jumping out to a 4-0 lead and never looking back.
Senior Tess Osburn led the charge with five goals and an assist, while Dani Serrano dished out a career-high seven assists to go along with two goals. Hanna Bodner added three goals and was strong in the draw circle, and Sarah Beth Burns contributed two goals and an assist as Marquette matched its season high with 20 goals.
Series History
The Huskies lead the all-time series with the Golden Eagles, 10-3 and are 7-0 at home all-time against Marquette. UConn dropped a 16-15 decision on the road last year at Marquette and have lost two of the last three match ups.
Senior Day Honors
Prior to Saturday's contest the Huskies will honor their 10 departing seniors along with their families. Nora Casey, Karsyn Burnash, Rayea Davis, Barlow Clark-Schoeb, Ava Plata, Grace Winkler, Chandler McHale, Alana Goldhaber, Brooke Surace, and Olivia Marlow will all play their final games on Morrone Stadium on Saturday.
