Athletic Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Football Internship
The University of Connecticut Football Strength and Conditioning Program is seeking to hire two to three highly motivated interns for Spring 2026. The goal of our program is to provide a comprehensive view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique, and facility upkeep. Interns will complete an educational curriculum, gain practical on-floor experience, assist with the daily setup and reset of the weight room, perform regular cleaning and maintenance, and support other duties as assigned by the strength and conditioning staff.
Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, and demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills.
Qualifications: In pursuit of, or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting, as a coach or athlete. Candidates must be CPR/AED certified and possess, or currently working towards their certification through the USAW, NSCA, or CSCCa.
Compensation: This is an unpaid position with no housing or meal assistance. Internship credit hours may be obtained.
Internship Term: January 19, 2026 – May 1, 2026

Athletics Sports Performance Volunteer Internship

The University of Connecticut Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for volunteer interns with Olympic Sports for Spring 2026. This gratis position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Olympic Strength and Conditioning staff in the supervision and training of UConn's Division I intercollegiate Olympic programs; assist with daily administrative, cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA – CSCS; CSCCa - SCCC; USAW and CPR-First Aid certification.
