Women’s Lacrosse to Host UNH in Home Opener

STORRS, Conn. – After opening the season with three straight games on the road, the UConn women's lacrosse team returns to Sherman Family Complex to host the New Hampshire Wildcats in its home opener on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Opponent and Series History…
- UConn leads the all-time series against the Wildcats, 9-6, including wins in the last four meetings. The Huskies took last year's meeting, 16-8, after storming back from an early two goal deficit.
- UNH is coming off a dominating 16-5 win over Sacred Heart on Friday night to even its record to 1-1.
- Mickenzie Larivee leads the Wildcats with eight goals, while Devan Miller and Michele Smith are tied for a team high three assists.
Last Time Out…
The Huskies suffered an 18-9 setback against No. 4 James Madison. UConn battled the defending champions tough in the first half, tying the game 7-7 heading into halftime. JMU would score the first 10 goals of the second half to distance themselves from the Huskies to earn the victory.
Sydney Watson paced the Huskies with four goals and an assist for five points while Lexi Kenneally contributed three points on two goals and an assist. Olivia Miles, Casey O'Grady and Abby Vetsch also found the back of the net for UConn, tallying one goal apiece.
Leading the Pack…
Katie Woods enters her 9th season at the helm of the UConn Lacrosse program in 2019. The most successful coach in UConn women's lacrosse history, Woods has accumulated a 107-96 record, six winning seasons and two conference Coach of the Year Awards during her time in Storrs.
