Huskies Duels Butler on Saturday Afternoon

STORRS, Conn.- Â The UConn women's lacrosse team will look to get back in the win column on Saturday, welcoming the Butler Bulldogs to Morrone Stadium.

The Huskies will look to snap a five-game losing streak, falling short in a comeback effort against No. 24 Villanova on Wednesday afternoon, 10-8. Abby Beran stuffed the stat sheet on the defensive end for the Huskies. Beran tied a program-record with 10 ground balls.
 The junior defender set a new career-high in caused turnovers (seven) and matched her career-high in draw controls (eight). Beran ranks fourth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (3.36) and third in ground balls per game (4.55)   Â
Emma Dacey led the Huskies with three points (two goals, one assist). McKenna Merkel continued the strong play in her freshman season, scoring two more goals on Wednesday afternoon.
Opposition Research:
Butler comes to Storrs in search of its first conference win of the season. The Bulldogs fell to Xavier in their last game, 14-9. Elise Latham led the way in the defeat, scoring four goals. Latham leads Butler with 32 goals on the season. Ryan Riley tops the Bulldogs in points (35), scoring 18 goals and dishing out 17 assists. Samantha Wilson has started all 12 games in goal for the Bulldogs, making 94 saves at a .367 save percentage.
UConn has won all eight meetings in the series, including a 17-7 win in Indianapolis on April 1st.
