Huskies Take on Xavier in Cincy

STORRS- The UConn women's lacrosse team (4-8, 1-3 BIG EAST) will venture to Cincinnati for its last road game of the season, taking on the Xavier Musketeers (3-11, 1-3 BIG EAST) on Saturday at 12:00pm.
Previously on UConn Lacrosse:
UConn snapped a five-game losing streak on Saturday, taking care of business against Butler with a 15-4 victory at Morrone. Rayea Davis conducted the attack for the Huskies, scoring five goals and dishing out three assists for a team season-high eight points.
Abby Beran anchored a staunch UConn defense, causing eight turnovers, scooping six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Beran won BIG EAST Defensive Player of the week after a dominant showing against Villanova. Beran tied a program record with 10 ground balls, set a new career-high in caused turnovers (seven) and matched her career-high in draw controls (eight).
Emma Dacey continued her strong offensive play, recording four points(two goals and two assists). Karsyn Burnash tallied a hat trick and Hadley Bethke scored two goals to complete the win for the Huskies.
Opposition Research:
Xavier will host the Huskies after picking up its first conference win of the season against Butler last week, defeating the Bulldogs 14-9. Gabby Bouman led the way with five goals in the win. Samantha Balara and Megan Droney are tied for the team lead with 29 points each. Colby Wasson anchors the Xavier defense, with 39 ground balls and 28caused turnovers. UConn broke a single-game program record for goals last year against Xavier, posting two dozen as a team in a 24-8 victory.
