STORRS, Conn. – The UConn softball team (7-16) heads to Seton Hall this weekend for a three-game series with the Pirates. The series will begin on Friday, March 13 at 2:00pm. Game two will be on Saturday, March 14 at 12:00pm. The series will conclude on Sunday, March 15 at 12:00pm. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
UConn enters the weekend having won three of their last four games. The Huskies opened BIG EAST play last weekend with a series victory at St. John's. Sophomore infielder Cat Petteys led the way at the plate in the series for the Huskies, hitting .583 with two home runs and three RBIs. Petteys was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her performance over the weekend. She has recorded four straight multi-hit games.
In the circle, graduate Jessica Walter has had a strong start to conference play, appearing in all three games at St. John's, posting a 0.00 era across 7.0 innings pitched. She recorded five strikeouts in the series win, holding St. John's hitters to a .167 batting average against her.
A Look at Seton Hall
The Seton Hall Pirates (8-10) started off the 2026 season with an 8-7 non-conference record in February. Last weekend, the Pirates were swept by Creighton at home to open their BIG EAST slate. Seton Hall is coached by Angie Churchill entering her fifth season. The Pirates were selected to finish in seventh place in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. Seton Hall has been led by sophomores Angelina Benitez and Sophia Demarco this season.
Series History
UConn swept last year's regular season series against Seton Hall in Storrs. Under head coach Laura Valentino, the Huskies have gone 12-4 against the Pirates (since 2021). UConn leads the all-time series, 51-24.
