Ellie Sieler Named Assistant Softball Coach

STORRS, Conn. – Ellie Sieler has joined the UConn softball staff as an assistant coach, announced by head coach Laura Valentino on Friday.
Sieler joins the Huskies program after spending this past year as a graduate assistant for the Arizona softball program. She assisted the Wildcats offensive and defensive development, while working extensively with hitters. Sieler was also utilized for in-depth scouting of opponents in her time at Arizona. She earned a master's degree in Sports and Recreational Leadership.
"We're excited to add someone with Ellie's experience from Michigan and Arizona to our program," said Valentino."Ellie is a hard worker with a relentless drive to learn and improve. Her love for the game, growth mindset, and commitment to developing student-athletes make her a perfect fit for the culture we continue to build at UConn. She will have an immediate impact working with our outfielders while contributing to our offense, scouting, and player development. Her energy, preparation, and passion will help us continue to compete for championships and raise the standard of UConn Softball."
Sieler earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in 2025, where she was a standout student-athlete for the Wolverines softball program for four seasons. A four-year starter, she appeared in 220 career games in the outfield, compiling a .301 career batting average with 181 hits, 13 home runs, and 64 RBI. During her junior season, Sieler earned All-Big Ten First Team, and NFCA All-Great Lakes Region First Team honors. A contributor from day one, Sielerenjoyed a stellar rookie season, earning a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. Off the field, Sieler was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient.
