STORRS, Conn. – No. 6 UConn women's hockey (21-7-2) is set for two Hockey East matchups on the road this weekend. The Huskies will first take on the New Hampshire Wildcats on Friday, February 13 at 2:00pm at the Whittemore Center. UConn will then play Boston University on Saturday, February 14 at 4:00pm at Walter Brown Arena. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
Coming into the weekend, UConn has won their last two consecutive games and are 3-2 in their last five contests. The Huskies currently sit in second place in the Hockey East standings with a 14-5-1 conference record with just four games remaining in the regular season. FULL STANDINGS
This season, UConn is 10-2-1 when playing on the road. The Huskies are 17-3 when scoring first and are 16-2 when leading after the second period. UConn is averaging 2.8 goals per game this season, ranking second in the conference. Senior forward Megan Woodworth leads the Huskies in goals this season with 13, marking a career high.
A Look at New Hampshire
The New Hampshire Wildcats (15-12-3) have won three straight games coming into the weekend. UConn last met the Wildcats a few weeks ago, resulting in a series split. The Huskies were victorious in the opening game at New Hampshire, 1-0. The Wildcats won the second game in Storrs in overtime, 3-2. New Hampshire is currently in fifth place in the Hockey East standings with a 9-9-2 conference record.
A Look at Boston University
The Boston University Terriers (9-17-3) enter the weekend having lost two of their last three games. The Huskies and Terriers last met in December. Game one in Storrs resulted in a 1-1 tie, with Boston University winning the shootout. The Huskies beat the Terriers in game two in Boston, 3-2 as Meghane Duchesne-Chalifoux netted the game-winning goal with 7.3 seconds remaining in regulation. Boston University is currently in eighth place in the Hockey East standings with a 7-11-2 conference record.
