Trio of Huskies Selected in 2026 PWHL Draft

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey program reached a new milestone on Wednesday night, producing a record three selections in the 2026 PWHL Draft. Tia Chan came off the board in the third round, followed by Kyla Josifovic and Megan Woodworth in the fourth round.
"We are proud of Tia, Kyla and Megan and excited to see what the future holds in their professional careers." said head coach Chris MacKenzie.
Tia Chan (Hamilton, Ontario) was selected with the 28th overall pick in the third round by San Jose, one of four new expansion teams. One of the most decorated goaltenders in program history, Chan is the all-time program leader in wins (70), save percentage (.946), and shutouts (25). This past season she made program history, becoming the first netminder to be named National Women's Goalie of the Year, surpassing single season program records for wins (27), and saves (1,122). Chan's .951 save percentage tied the current single season program record. Her stellar season in net earned her a First Team All-American selection and back-to-back Hockey East Goaltender of the Year honors.
Kyla Josifovic (Burlington, Ontario) was selected with the 39th overall pick in the fourth round by another expansion team in Detroit. Josifovic played in all 39 games this past season, serving as team captain. She posted career highs in goals (16), and assists (24), becoming the first player to record a 40-point season since 2007-08. Her standout senior season earned her Hockey East All-Star honors for the first time in her career. Josifovic concludes her UConn career with 26 goals, and 43 assists in 144 games played.
Megan Woodworth (Berwick, Nova Scotia) the final Husky selected with the 42nd overall pick in the fourth round by new league member Hamilton. This past season, Woodworth played in all 39 games, recording career highs in goals (16), assists (11), and points (27). She led all forwards on the roster with 41 blocked shots. For her career, Woodworth scored 31 goals and dished out 34 assists, totaling 65 points in 144 games played.
