Huskies Set for BIG EAST Home Weekend

STORRS, Conn. - UConn welcomes St. John's on Oct. 9 and Seton Hall on Oct. 10 for a pair of BIG EAST matchups at the UConn Volleyball Center. First serve is set for 5 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Huskies are coming off road losses to Georgetown and Villanova last weekend. Sydney Borowy led UConn with 17 kills across the two matches, while Audrey Jensen recorded a team-high 49 assists and Courtney Grayson tallied a team-best nine blocks.
St. John's is coming off a two-win weekend, defeating Xavier, 3-2, and Butler, 3-1. Carola Tesoro recorded a match-high 16 kills against Butler, adding two aces and seven digs. The Red Storm currently sit atop the BIG EAST standings.
Seton Hall is coming off a two-loss weekend, falling to Butler, 0-3, and Xavier, 1-3. Freshman Samantha Shelton tallied a career-high 18 kills against Xavier, adding eight digs while hitting .240. The Pirates are 8-8 overall and 0-4 in BIG EAST play.
UConn and St. John's are tied, 13-13, in the all-time series. Last season, the Huskies earned a 3-1 win over the Red Storm at home on Oct. 4 before falling, 3-1, in Queens on Oct. 31.
The Huskies lead the all-time series against Seton Hall, 11-7. Last season, UConn won both meetings, earning a 3-1 victory on Oct. 3 before sweeping the Pirates in three sets on Nov. 1.
