STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team (3-0-2) will welcome the Colgate Raiders (3-0-1) to Joseph J. Morrone Stadium on Sunday, September 7. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm and will be available to stream on UConn+ and on the WWAX in Connecticut. TICKETS
UConn is coming off a 1-0 win over Central Connecticut on Thursday, earning their third clean sheet this season. The Huskies rank 35th nationally in shutout percentage (0.60), and 26th in team goals against average (0.40). Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Durham has had a strong start to his UConn career, recording 25 saves which ranks 5th nationally. Durham ranks atop the conference in saves per game (5.00), and save percentage (0.926).
Senior forward Austin Brummett leads the Huskies front line with three goals this season, two being game winners (ranks 2nd nationally). Graduate student Balthazar Saunders leads the Huskies in shooting metrics, recording 17 shots, placing nine on goal. Saunders is top two in the conference, averaging 1.80 shots on goal per game.
A Look at Colgate
The Colgate Raiders are unbeaten through their first four matches this season. They are coming off a 1-0 win over Binghamton on Thursday. The Raiders are coached by Erik Ronning entering his 18th season. Under Ronning, Colgate has qualified for the Patriot League Tournament in 14 of his 17 seasons, winning six tournament championships. The Raiders return many key offensive players from their 2024 roster, including the Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Blake Pipkin who accounted for 7 of the Raiders 25 goals last season. Pipkin was named to the Preseason Hermann Trophy Watch List. Colgate was selected to finish 5th in the 2025 Patriot League Preseason Poll.
Series History
The last time these two programs met was back in 1994, Colgate won in overtime, 3-2. Colgate leads the all-time series record, 6-2-0.
