STORRS, Conn. – UConn men's soccer battled No. 1 Georgetown to a 2-2 draw on a rainy Friday evening at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. Preston Alessio led the Huskies with a pair of goals, recording the first brace of his career. UConn closes out BIG EAST play with a 4-3-1 record and finishes the 2026 regular season at 8-7-3.

The Huskies struck early, as Alessio found the back of the net off an assist from Steve Delacour just 1:33 into the contest to give UConn a 1-0 lead. Delacour has recorded assists in back-to-back games.

Georgetown equalized in the 22^nd minute on Matthew Van Horn's free kick to even the score at 1-1.

The teams headed into halftime deadlocked at 1-1, despite UConn holding a 7-2 advantage in shots.

Georgetown moved in front early in the second half when Noah Satriano scored off a corner kick in the 54^thminute to put the Hoyas ahead, 2-1.

UConn threw numbers forward in search of an equalizer, creating several scoring opportunities, including two that required saves from Georgetown goalkeeper Charlie DeMarco. Play became increasingly physical through the middle stages of the second half, with multiple fouls and yellow cards.

UConn utilized one of its challenges in the 88^th minute to review a potential foul inside the box on a Huskies attacker. Following the video review, the referee awarded UConn a penalty kick, giving the Huskies an opportunity to equalize. Alessio stepped up and converted from the spot, completing his brace and bringing the score level at 2-2.

The Huskies continued to press for a game-winner in the closing minutes, but DeMarco held strong for Georgetown down the stretch as the contest ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Huskies finished with a 17-7 advantage in shots, including 10-5 in the second half. Georgetown held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks while also committing 14 fouls to UConn's 9. Alessio scored twice and finished with a career high seven shots. Elijah Langford added four shots, including one on goal.
