PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island - The UConn women's swimming and diving team dominated in a win over the University of Rhode Island at Tootell Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon.
The Huskies coasted to victory with a 188-112 win over the Rams, with sophomore Sydney Perkins and freshman Mia Hatriz leading the way for the Huskies with a combined six top 3 finishes, with five 1st place finishes,
"It was fun to get a get win, the first of the season, the team raced hard and earned a win on the road," said Head Coach Chris Maiello on the victory. "We are under heavy training, so it was challenging for them, but generally we did a good job."
Sophomores Jessica Sheng and Nadine Amin also contributed for the Huskies, finishing with a combined four top 3 finishes, two being 1st place finishes.
"We still have many aspects of our racing and diving that we need to improve on, so we will continue to focus on those as we move toward the next meet this weekend and towards our mid-season championship," said Maiello on the outlook of the season.
The Huskies will look ahead to their next meet, where they will host Northeastern in a battle of the dogs. The meet is set for Saturday November 8th at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium at 12 pm.
