No. 8 Huskies Set To Face Boston College This Weekend

STORRS, Conn. – No. 8 UConn women's hockey (7-2-1) is set for a home-and-home series against Hockey East foe Boston College this weekend. The series will begin on Friday, November 7 at 6:00pm at the Conte Forum. The series will conclude on Saturday, November 8 at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. Puck drop is set for 3:00pm. UConn is coming off a weekend sweep of Holy Cross, starting Hockey East play with a 2-0 record. The Huskies are riding a seven-game unbeaten streak (5-0-2) as they continue their strong early-season form. Leading the UConn forwards this season is senior captain Kyla Josifovic with five goals, and five assists. Josifovic led the Huskies in game-winning goals a season ago and has already netted two this season. Another UConn captain, Tia Chan, is off to a strong start to the season, earning Hockey East Goaltender of the Month honors. Chan has made 280 saves across her 9 games this season, leading all Hockey East netminders with a .952 save percentage.
A Look at Boston College
The Boston College Eagles (4-5-1) are coming off a loss and a tie in their two games series at Vermont last weekend. Before that series, the Eagles got off to a 3-0 start to their Hockey East slate, posting wins over Holy Cross, Providence, and Merrimack. Boston College is coached by Katie Crowley entering her 19th season in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles were voted to finish in fourth place in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches' Poll. This season, Boston College has been led by freshman forward Ava Thomas with a league leading 14 points (6 goals, 8 assists).
Series History
Last season, the Huskies and Eagles split all three games in the regular season series. In three highly contested games, each team won by one goal at home, and the final matchup ended in a 1-1 draw. Dating back to the 2022-23 season, UConn and Boston College have played in eight straight tight contests, resulting in six one-score games and two ties. The Huskies are 2-4-2 in that stretch. UConn is 27-48-12 all-time against Boston College.
