Huskies Set For 3 game Weekend

STORRS, Conn. - Â The University of Connecticut women's volleyball team is back in action as they will host Sacred Heart University, Thursday, September 7 before traveling south to New Haven Connecticut for a tournament hosted by the Yale Bulldogs.
Last time out, UConn hosted their first set of home matches at the new UConn Volleyball Facility. UConn fell to Hofstra and Lehigh but battled back to take its first home win of the season over Merrimack College.
Entering the matchups this upcoming weekend, the Huskies are 2-4 on the season. Leading the way for the Huskies last weekend was sophomore Jess Perry. Perry was named to the all-tournament team and finished the weekend with 27 total kills and four blocks. This season, sophomore Emma Werkmeister is leading the team offensively with 55 total kills, followed by freshman Mya Ayro (47), and graduate student Cera Powell (43).
Scouting Sacred Heart
 Entering the weekend, the Pios currently sit at 0-5, most recently coming off a loss to Hofstra. Despite the record, Sacred Heart has a balanced offense. Freshman Gaby Zovko was recently named rookie of the week and is second on the team with 25 kills. Leading the way offensively for Sacred Heart is Camryn Luginbuhl with 34 kills on the season.
Scouting Rhode Island
Entering the weekend at Yale, Rhode Island holds a 1-5 overall record. The lone win for Rhode Island was this past weekend as they took down Le Moyne in four sets. Leading the way offensively is Madi Disu with 49 kills followed by Andrea Owens with 43 total kills. The rams are also led by Katie Butler and Catalina Hendricks who have 82 and 67 assists respectively.
Scouting Yale
Yale enters the weekend having played only three games on the season. The Bulldogs currently sit 1-2 overall with their lone win coming against Army in four sets. Leading the way for the Bulldogs is Mila Yarich with 38 kills. Additionally, the Bulldogs have Carly Diehl who sits at 101 assists through the first three games.
The UConn vs. Sacred Heart game on Thursday, September 7 will be streamed live on UConn+. The game is set to begin at 6:05pm.
