Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - The University of Connecticut rowing team placed fifth in all events at the 2023 CAA Championship Friday, ceding victory to Northeastern, the Husky's (Northeastern) ninth consecutive crown. UConn scored 18 points, beating San Diego (13), Eastern Michigan (8), and Monmouth (0).Â
Coach Jen Sanford said, "I'm proud of our performance at the CAA, finish 5th out of 8 is a few steps in the right direction toward future program goals. We had a great season, I will truly miss the seniors and their leadership."
Following the day's races, two UConn student athletes were recognized as members of the 2023 All-CAA Rowing Team, Emilie Karovic and Emma Paynter.Â
