BOSTON, Mass. – The Huskies continued their fall season with a strong performance at the 60th annual Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, competing against top collegiate programs on the historic Charles River.
In the Women's Club 8+, the Huskies' 'A' crew placed 24th in a 36-boat field with a time of 18:09.966, while the 'B' boat finished 31st overall in 18:50.546.
The Women's Club 4+ event highlighted UConn's depth, as all four entries finished solidly in the middle of a large 53-boat field. The 'A' crew placed 17th in 20:57.434, followed by the 'B' in 27th (21:27.755), the 'C' in 33rd (21:50.849), and the 'D' in 41st (22:22.625).
"I was very happy with our performance today," said head coach Jennifer Sanford. "We finished ahead of many teams we will race this spring, which is a confidence booster. Most importantly, the crew followed their race plan and had a great piece. I'm looking forward to the Head of the Schuylkill next weekend where we will be trying some different combinations of people in different races."
The Huskies return to the water at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa., October 25–26.
