RESULTS

SHELTON, Conn. – The Huskies faced tough racing conditions at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta on Saturday afternoon, finishing 4th, 8th, 13th, and 19th out of 21 boats in the Eight Event, and 10th out of 16 in the Four Event.

It proved to be one of the Huskies' more challenging days on the water this fall, as three of the five boats came in contact with debris following recent rain and wind. Despite the obstacles, the team demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the day.

"It was one of our more challenging days on the water this fall, with three of our five boats coming in contact with debris from the recent rain and wind," said head coach Jen Sanford. "Hitting debris hinders the coxswain's ability to steer and makes it a very challenging experience for the rowers as the boat becomes heavier with the drag. The coxswains are tasked with trying to safely navigate without the ability to use the rudder. Every day can't be rainbows and butterflies—sometimes a thunderstorm comes along and takes the wind out of your sails. We'll take the challenges from today and turn them into motivation as we keep our eye on the prize of spring racing."

The Huskies will use the lessons learned at the Head of the Housatonic to fuel their training as they prepare for the upcoming spring racing season.
