UConn is coming off a tough loss this past weekend in back-and-forth contest to the Big Red of Cornell. The result was 16-13 in favor of Cornell. UAlbany, however, beat their opponent last weekend, UC Davis, in a 17-15 contest.
Senior, Kate Shaffer, continues to put up points each game, collecting four points against Cornell on a goal and three assists. Grace Coon put four goals in the back of the net on Saturday against the Big Red. Lia LaPrise and Sophie Sorenson each put up a hat trick, while Susan Lafountain and Morgan Carter rounded out scoring for the Huskies.
Goalkeeper and grad student, Landyn White, had 14 saves for the Huskies. UConn controlled the draws 18 to Cornell's 15, with Madelyn George taking six, and Kate Shaffer and Rylee Brown taking five each. Ultimately, it was not enough to stop the Big Red. UConn will look to continue their win streak at home after a thrilling win versus Yale on March 11th.
