STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team lost to the Butler Bulldogs 4-1 Saturday night at Morrone Stadium.

The first ten minutes of the game were up and down with both teams getting quality chances on goal. The Huskies had an early goal waved off in the 3^rd minute. Scott Testori played a through ball to Frantz Pierrot on goal, but he was ruled offside by the assistant referee. Pierrot had another chance in the 8^th minute as Testori played another through ball to an open Pierrot, but his shot was wide of the goal.

Butler got on the scoreboard in the 21^st minute off a header to give them a 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs scored their second goal 5 minutes later in the 26^th minute off a turnover by the Huskies defense. UConn's goalkeeper Michael Stone made an initial save on Butler's first attempt, but the Bulldogs were there for the rebound. Butler would score another right before the end of the half in the 44^th minute off another header. The half ended at 3-0.

Pierrot got UConn on the scoreboard in the 48^th minute to trim the Butler lead to 3-1. Eli Conway played a cross across the face of goal and Pierrot was there to score his third goal of the season. Butler however, quickly responded with another goal in the 50^th minute to make it a three goal lead again.

In the 55^th minute Conway had a header that hit the post and just one minute later Nicolas Tomerius had a shot on goal that was saved by the Butler goalkeeper. UConn surrendered a penalty kick in the 59^th minute but Stone denied the Bulldogs a fifth goal. Stone finished with six saves on the night.

Butler fended off the Huskies wave of attacks for the final thirty minutes to give them their first conference win of the season. UConn moves to 2-4-1 on the season.
