HookC Wins 10th Straight, Takes Series at Pepperdine

MALIBU, Calif. - The UConn baseball team (11-1) defeated Pepperdine, 3-2, to secure a series win against the Waves and win its 10th-straight game.
Pat Gallagher (3-1) was superb on the hill for the Huskies with seven innings of work that featured zero walks and nine strikeouts. The Leominster, Mass. native retired the final 10 batters that he faced.
UConn jumped in front in the second inning with Ben Huber scoring on a wild pitch, followed by a two-out RBI single from Zach Bushling. The Lake Isabella, Calif. recorded a two-hit effort in front of roughly 50 friends and family.
Bryan Padilla provided a huge insurance run in the eighth with a two-out RBI single to push the UConn lead to 3-1.
Jack Sullivan recorded a scoreless eighth inning while UConn closer Justin Willis struck out the side in the ninth to notch his third save of the season.
The Huskies will go for their third-straight road series sweep on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT.
