Huskies Return to the Pool This Weekend With Back-Back Meets

STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women's swimming and diving team returns to the pool Friday, January 14 as they take on the University of Rhode Island and Saturday January 15 as they take on Seton Hall. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Tootell Aquatic Center in Kingston, Rhode Island and 3:00 p.m. Saturday in South Orange New Jersey.
The Huskies return to the pool for the first time in 2022 following a month-long break. Prior to the break, the Huskies defeated in state rival Southern Connecticut State University 157-122. The victory featured several individual achievements including Junior Anna Wenman securing her first collegiate victory, and freshman diver Julia Pioso securing zone cuts as well as a personal best in 1 meter diving.
Rhode Island welcomes the Huskies following a first-place finish in the Harold Anderson Invitational. At 5-0 Rhode Island is led by a strong group of swimmers including Kelsey McMeney, who set a meet record during the invitational in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:01.28.
Seton Hall at 2-2 on the season welcomes the Huskies following a fourth-place finish in the Patriot invite hosted by George Mason University. The meet vs. the Huskies will be the Pirates first meet since November 20.

Following the back-to-back meets, the Huskies will travel to Durham New Hampshire to take on the University of New Hampshire on January 22. The meet is set to being at 1:00 p.m.
