Women's Lacrosse Handles Bulldogs, 15-8

STORRS, Conn. – Junior Olivia Miles tallied a team-high four goals, freshman Lia LaPrise had three goals and a team-leading five assists, and sophomore Stephanie Palmucci added two goals and two assists to help UConn women's lacrosse (2-8) earn a 15-8 win over Bryant (4-4) Tuesday night at Sherman Family Complex.
The win snapped the squad's three game losing streak, lighting a fire amongst the group.
Senior Lexi Kenneally notched a pair of goals, sophomore Sydney Watson had two goals and an assist, and senior's Anna Costello and captain Brooke Jensen each added goals of their own for the Huskies.
The Huskies responded to an early Bryant score with a five goal, capped off by Jensen's free position shot.
After Bryant cut the lead to 5-3, UConn went on a quick two goal run to take a commanding lead. Watson and Palmucci each cashed in on free position attempts after getting fouled.
The Huskies continued the run in the second half, as UConn extended the lead to 10-3 on goals from Costello (28:06), Miles (21:12) and Watson (15:58).
UConn went on a late four goal run to open up a commanding nine point lead, then cruised to the 15-8 triumph.
