Women’s Hockey to Host Northeastern, Play at Providence

STORRS, Conn. – After splitting last weekend's series against Maine, the UConn women's hockey team returns to the ice as it prepares for another weekend of Hockey East competition. The Huskies host Northeastern on Friday at 6 p.m. UConn will then hit the road for Providence where they will take on the Friars on Saturday at 2 p.m.

- UConn trails Northeastern in the all-time series, 18-32-11.
- Northeastern enters the weekend with a 19-3-3 overall record and a 17-2-2 mark in WHEA competition. Northeastern comes into this weekend after winning four points in a two-game home stand with Vermont. They defeated the Catamounts, 2-1, in overtime on Friday, before skating away with a 5-1 victory on Saturday.
- Kasidy Anderson and Alina Mueller are the leading goal scorers with 16 and 14 scores, respectively. Mueller also leads Northeastern with 21 assists on the year.

UConn ended its three-game slide after playing Maine to a scoreless stalemate on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies fell to the Black Bears, 5-1, on Friday. The two teams split their regular season series, each posting a 1-1-1 record through three games.

Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
