Huskies to Compete in Never Forget Tribute Classic

STORRS, Conn. – In just its third game away from Connecticut, the UConn men's basketball team will travel to Newark, N.J. to take on the eleventh-ranked Florida State Seminoles in the second game of the third annual Never Forget Tribute Classic on Saturday, Dec.8 at the Prudential Center. The game is scheduled to begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN2.
The Never Forget Tribute Classic partners with the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, which supports the educational aspirations of children of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The Families of Freedom Fund was established within one week of the attacks of September 11, 2001, and has since provided more than $150 million in postsecondary education to an entire generation of financially-needy dependents of those killed or permanently disabled in the attacks and their aftermath. Leading the Pack…
Coach Dan Hurley enters his first season at the helm after he became the 19th head coach in the history of UConn men's basketball on March 22, 2018. Prior to his hiring, Hurley spent two seasons at Wagner College and six at the University of Rhode Island, and owns a collegiate coaching record of 153- 105 (.593). He is coming off two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and last season was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
