Huskies Add Freshman Egor Amosov To 2026-27 Roster

STORRS โย The UConn men's basketball team has rounded out the 2026-27 roster with the addition ofย Egor Amosov.ย The 6'7 Russian forward will join the Huskies as a freshman this summer and round out the now-complete 15 player roster with a total of 10 newcomers joining five returners.
"Egor is an exciting young prospect who brings versatility at the forward spot," head coachย Dan Hurleyย said. "His skillset fits what we look for in wing players and raises the level of that position group. We think that can compete to make an impact right away."
Amosovย comes to Connecticut as a freshman by way of Samara, Russia and Real Madrid in the Spanish Liga U (U22), where the 6'7 forward spent the 2025-26 season and helped Los Blancos take the inaugural championship of the youth league.ย Amosovย was the Liga U Player of the Year and averaged 14.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game over 30 Liga U contests. Real Madrid finished 25-5 before defeating Barca in the title game on May 17. He made one appearance with the senior team in LIGA ACB on Jan. 24, 2026.ย
Prior to joining up with Real he spent three years with BC Samara in Samara, Russia, where he totaled 44 appearances with Samara 2 in the VTB Youth United League and 42 with the senior club in the VTB United League. At age 14 in the 2022-23 season, he averaged 9.7 points across three games with Samara 2. The next season in '23-24,ย Amosovย made 31 starts for Samara 2 and averaged 13.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.8 steals in 26.3 minutes per game. He made eight appearances with the senior team in his age 15 season, including a pair of starts.ย
In his final season in Russia,ย Amosovย was a regular starter for Samara in the VTB United League and averaged 5.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 32 contests and 23 starts. He also made nine appearances with Samara 2 in 2024-25 and compiled 16.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.0 steals per game.ย
