SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The UConn men's and women's basketball teams will take part in the Hall of Fame Series Exhibition at Mohegan Sun Arena for the second-straight season jointly and third overall. Both squads will face Syracuse to open their preseason slates, with the women's game set for Monday, Oct. 12 and the men's matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Last season both sides took down Boston College in the Hall of Fame Exhibition at Mohegan, with the women notching an 84-67 victory and the men a 71-52 triumph. The men's program also opened the preseason at the inaugural event in 2024 and secured a 102-75 win over Rhode Island.
"We're excited to once again compete in the Basketball Hall of Fame Exhibition Game. It's a great opportunity for UConn fans to see our men's and women's teams in action against a familiar rival to kick off the 2026-27 season. The Hall of Fame puts together great matchups at Mohegan, and this year will be no exception."Â - Geno Auriemma
"Opening the exhibition slate with the Hall of Fame game at Mohegan Sun has been awesome the last few years and we're excited to do it again. Matching up with an old rival in Syracuse at a first-class venue is exciting for our fans as they'll be able to get their first look at our new team in live action. The Hall of Fame always puts on a high-level production with a big-game feel that will prepare us for our marquee early season matchups."Â - Dan Hurley
While the series will not count towards all-time records, the Huskies and Orange on both sides have a long history and spent 1979-2013 as conference-mates. The women are 41-13 all-time vs. Cuse and last faced SU in the Second Round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament, a 98-45 rout at Gampel Pavilion. The men last saw the Orange in the 2K Empire Classic at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15, 2018, a top-15 win for the Huskies in Hurley's third game at the helm and hold a 39-56 all-time mark vs. SU.
The exhibition will be the first of three preseason contests for the men, with prior announced matchups at Michigan State on a date TBD and home to Purdue on Oct. 27. The women recently announced a home exhibition against Texas on Oct. 19.
Tickets for the 2026 Basketball Hall of Fame Exhibition will go on sale on Wednesday, August 12, via Ticketmaster and at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office. Husky Athletic Fund members and basketball season ticket holders will have an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets prior to the general public sale.
