UConn Lead Erased by Boston College Wednesday in Home Opener

STORRS, Conn. - UConn's first half lead was erased by Boston College in the team's 2017 home opener on Wednesday at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. Senior Jacqueline Jordan (Los Gatos, Calif.) led the squad for a second straight game after she put up a hat trick and a helper.
The Huskies dropped to 1-2 on the season after the Eagles came back in the second half to claim a 14-11 final score. Boston College moves to 4-2 overall this year.
UConn led Boston College 7-6 after the first half after Jordan scored three consecutive goals to start a 4-0 run for the Huskies. She is now tied for first on the team with seven goals this season along with junior Grace Nolan (Marcellus, N.Y.).
Seniors Ally Tilley (Setauket, N.Y.) and Maggie Tripodi (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored back-to-back to start the second half and give UConn a three-goal lead.
The tides turned halfway through the second half and Boston College scored six-unanswered goals to take its largest lead of the game.
UConn battled back in the end and scored twice more, but ultimately could not surpass BC and the Eagles grinded out a 14-11 win.
Freshman goalkeeper Grace Beshlian (Wantagh, N.Y.) racked up a whopping, career-best 14 saves in Wednesday's contest versus Boston College, including eight in the second half alone.
