HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Fitch High School in Groton, Conn. ... participated in cross country and track and field ... was team captain of cross country as a senior ... as a junior, was part of 4x400 meter relay team that was league champions and part of a 4x800 relay team that won league title as a sophomore ... in freshman year, cross country team won state championship ... PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: 'After graduation, I am going to return to UConn for one semester to finish up my degree. Then I hope to spend some time hiking the Appalachian Trail before pursuing a career in which I can help people by making science more accessible, probably through nursing or education.' LITTLEWOOD ON ROWING AT UCONN: 'Rowing here is great because UConn really takes care of its athletes. Being at a big school with other successful sports teams has been a very cool, albeit intense, experience. There are high expectations, and you really have to bring it every day if you want to succeed and be respected. As a child growing up in Connecticut, I never would have guessed that I would have the opportunity to work with the same people and in the same facilities as our basketball team. This has practically been a childhood dream come true! The coaches, staff, professors, and student body have been nothing but supportive. Huskies love their sports and they love to win!'
