Rowing Walk on Tryouts
Tryout for the UConn Women's Rowing team!
No previous rowing experience is required. We teach you everything you need to know. Tryouts are held every September.
UConn Womenโs Rowingย is welcoming athletes to try out for our team. UConn Rowing has a strong history of walk on athletes contributing to program success. We are holding try outs in search of the next great class of walk on rowers -ย no experience required!

UConn Rowing is a Division 1 sport in the Coastal Athletic Association, coming off a program best 2025 season. Join us as we look to bring a conferenceย championshipย to Storrs and compete at NCAAs.ย
What makes a great collegiate rower?
- Strong athletic background in any sport
- Competitive mindset
- Team first attitude
- Strong time management skills
- Tough as nails
- 5โ8โ or taller
Steps to try out:
- Complete our walk on interest form
- Complete compliance info form
- Complete Sports Medicineย checklist
