AS A SENIOR (2015): Started all 18 games in her final season at UConnÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ Boasted career highs in ground balls (15), caused turnovers (6) and draw controls (5)ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ Part of a Connecticut defense that ranked in the top-20 nationally in caused turnovers and ground balls per gameÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ Helped the Huskies finish with the second-best scoring defense (9.78) among Big East schools.
AS A JUNIOR (2014): Played in 12 games, starting each of UConn's first three games of the season... Recorded a ground ball against Louisville (April 17) and Cincinnati (April 19)... Finished the year with two caused turnovers.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2013): Appeared in four games... Finished the season with one ground ball.
AS A FRESHMAN (2012): Did not appear as a freshman.
BEFORE UCONN: Van Scyoc joins the Huskies after playing defense for the Skywalkers Lacrosse club for the past several years... played field hockey at C. Milton Wright High School, where she was a 2010 All-State selection, team captain and team MVP, leading her team to the regional finals as a junior and senior... a member of the National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Ashley Mariah Van Scyoc... daughter of Brock Van Scyoc and Amy Butterfield... has four siblings, Adam, Kayla, Molly and Braeden... born March 28, 1993.
