STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's hockey is set to kick off the 2026-27 season with a two-game series at St. Cloud State this weekend. Game one is set for Friday, September 25 at 8:00pm EST. The series will conclude on Saturday, September 26 at 3:00pm EST. Both games will be streamed on Big Ten Plus.
UConn enters the 2026-27 season ranked No. 7 in the national polls, the highest preseason ranking in program history. The Huskies are coming off their second Hockey East Championship in the last three seasons. UConn was selected to finish in second place in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches' Poll.
UConn returns Hockey East All-Stars, Claire Murdoch, Julia Pellerin, and Maya Serdachny to this year's roster. The three accounted for 90 of the Huskies 318 points last season. In total, UConn brings back 17 players from last year's roster, and welcomes seven incoming freshmen.
A Look at St. Cloud State
The St. Cloud State Huskies are coming off a 12-23-2 campaign in 2025-26. The Huskies are coached by Mira Jalosuo entering her second season. St. Cloud was selected to finish in sixth place in the WCHA Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Huskies return their top two point producers, and top five goal scorers from last season to this year's roster.
Series History
These two programs opened the 2025-26 season with a two-game series at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. St. Cloud took the opener, 2-1 before UConn bounced back with a 2-1 win in the second game. The teams have played six consecutive one-goal games, dating back to the 2017-18 season. UConn leads the all-time series, 5-3.
