#10 Huskies Set For 2 Game Homestand vs. Villanova and Princeton

Storrs, Conn. - ย The UConn women's field hockey team is set for the first home matches of the 2026 season as they face off against Villanova at 3pm Friday September 18, and Princeton on Sunday September 20.
The Huskies currently post a 4-1 overall record ahead of the first BIG EAST matchup of the season. UConn is coming off a 4-3 shootout victory over no.17 Rutgers which featured goals from Charlotte Ritter, Lucy Zich, and Emma Larit in regulation while Lucy Zich secured the win with a shootout goal.
Villanova enters the weekend posting a 5-1 overall record and has currently won three straight games. Friday's matchup will be the first conference match for the Wildcats as well. The Wildcats are led by Ava Borkowski and Gemma Lysaght who have combined for 13 goals this season.
Following the matchup with Villanova, the Huskies will return to non-conference action as they welcome Princeton University to Storrs, Sunday, September 20. The game can be streamed live on UConn+. Princeton enters the weekend with a 3-1 overall record which featured wins over Old Dominion and Rutgers while falling to North Carolina in a shootout.
