PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — No. 11 University of Connecticut (2-0) secured a 4–1 victory over No. 20 Saint Joseph's (1-1) on Saturday. UConn controlled the match offensively, scoring four goals from four different players while holding Saint Joseph's to just one goal.

Securing an early lead, scoring twice in the opening quarter. Abby Davidson opened the scoring with 1:38 remaining, finding the back of the cage for her second goal of the season. Emma Larit added another goal at 10:35 to give the Huskies a 2-0 advantage. UConn also recorded shots from Ellie Goldstein and Lucy Zich.

The Huskies added to their lead in the second quarter as Milou Heuker tipped in a penalty corner from Fien Hollander at 18:20, giving the Huskies a 3-0 advantage. Saint Joseph's answered late in the period, with Monica Piccioli knocking home a pass across the circle from Cat Arentz with 29 seconds remaining. UConn carried a 3-1 lead into halftime.

UConn extended its lead to 4-1 in the third quarter, as Ellie Goldstein found the back of the cage at 40:19. Goldstein finished off a long outlet pass from Olivia McKenna in transition for her first goal of the season. Saint Joseph's generated several opportunities in the quarter, but Natalie Mckenna made three saves to keep the Hawks off the board.

UConn maintained control throughout the fourth quarter, holding Saint Joseph's scoreless to secure the 4-1 victory. The Huskies continued to generate offensive pressure, earning a penalty corner and recording four shots in the final 15 minutes. Saint Joseph's goalkeeper Avi Wagner made several saves to keep the Hawks within reach, but UConn's defense held firm to close out the win.
