WSOC Opens Home Slate Against Rutgers & BU

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team (0-0-1) kicks off the home portion of its 2026 schedule with its home opener against Rutgers on Thursday, August 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Boston University on Sunday, August. 23 at 7 p.m. Both games can be seen for free on UConn+.
The Huskies home opener against Rutgers is part of a doubleheader with the men's soccer season opener against Syracuse kicking off at 5 p.m. Tickets to either game will get you into both games of the doubleheader.
UConn opened the season with a 2-2 draw at Stony Brook last Thursday. Sophomore Ines Nourani tallied a goal and an assist while freshman Anya Montano registered a pair of assists. The contest saw nine Huskies made their UConn debut. Senior Alayna Taylor scored her second career goal as part of the season opener.
UConn is 17-7-5 all-time against Rutgers with the teams facing off the last two seasons. Last year, the teams played to a 0-0 draw in Piscataway while the Huskies beat the Scarlet Knights 2-1 in the First Round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament in Piscataway.
Against Boston University the Huskies are 8-5 all-time against the Terriers with the last meeting a 2-0 win for the Huskies in Boston in 2024.
