STORRS – The UConn men's basketball team will return to Boston's TD Garden next season for a 2026 National Championship rematch with Michigan, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and Position Sports on Tuesday (June 2). The game is set for Friday, Nov. 6 as part of the TNT Sports Hall of Fame Series Boston, with UConn taking part in a HOF Series game for the third-straight season.
The Huskies played in the Hall of Fame Series Boston a year ago, taking down then-No. 7 BYU at the TD Garden on Nov. 15 in one of the season's premiere non-conference clashes. UConn also played in the Hall of Fame Series in 2024-25, knocking off top-10 Gonzaga in the Hall of Fame Series New York at Madison Square Garden. In each of the last two campaigns, Connecticut has played in the Hall of Fame Exhibition on Columbus Day with wins over Rhode Island and Boston College at Mohegan Sun.
The Huskies are 2-3 all-time against Michigan. Prior to UM's title game victory in April, the last meeting between the programs came on Nov. 25, 2015 – a 74-60 win for the Huskies at the Battle 4 Atlantis. The squads split a home-and-home with two wins for the home sides in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, and Michigan took a 62-45 victory in the first all-time meeting during the 1939-40 campaign.
Michigan joins a loaded 2026-27 non-conference slate that includes previously announced contests with Duke, Illinois and Arizona along with exhibitions against Michigan State and Purdue. Additional schedule information will be announced in the coming weeks.
