STORRS โย The UConn men's basketball team will play a home-and-home series with Ohio State in the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons, the programs announced on August 13. The series will commence in Connecticut on Nov. 13, 2026 with a return game in Columbus on Nov. 12, 2027.
UConn is 3-4 all-time against Ohio State in a series dating back to a home-and-home in the 1983-84 and 1984-85 season. The Buckeyes swept that series before the two sides met again in the 1988 NIT Championship at Madison Square Garden, a 72-67 triumph for the Huskies that marked UConn's first title in a national postseason event.ย
The next two meetings also came on the postseason stage, with Ohio State knocking off Connecticut in the second round of the 1992 NCAA Tournament in Cincinnati before the Huskies tipped the Buckeyes in the 1999 National Semifinal at Tropicana Field en route to their first NCAA title. Most recently, the squads split a home-and-home series, each winning on their own floor in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 campaigns.ย
Ohio State joins a blockbuster slate compiled by the Huskies for the 2026-27 non-conference. UConn will also play previously announced marquee matchups including Michigan in Boston (Nov. 6), Arizona in Tucson (Nov. 18). Duke in Las Vegas (Nov. 25), Illinois in Chicago (Dec. 4) and Kansas at home (Dec. 12). Connecticut has also compiled a preseason schedule that includes exhibition bouts with Syracuse at Mohegan Sun (Oct. 13), Purdue at home (Oct. 27) and at Michigan State.ย ย
