SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The UConn baseball team (30-22, 13-5 BIG EAST) completed a series sweep at Seton Hall (15-28, 2-16 BIG EAST) with a 7-3 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Oliver Pudvar earned his seventh win of the season with his fifth-straight quality start that spanned 6.0 innings allowed nine hits but just two runs allowed and struck out five.

Greg Shaw III finished it off with his third save of the year with 3.0 innings of work.

Maddix Dalena got the scoring going in the first with a two-out RBI single that plated Anthony Belisario.

The Pirates scored two runs in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 advantage.

UConn took the lead for good in the third after a pair of walks to Jackson Marshall and Nater Wachter was paired with a Maddix Dalena single to load the bases. Chris Polemeni drilled a grand slam to left field to make it 5-2 Huskies.

The Huskies added two more runs in the fourth with a Wachter sacrifice fly and Polemeni two-out RBI single to push the lead to 7-2.

Coupled with a St. John's loss at Villanova on Sunday, the Huskies are tied for first place in the BIG EAST standings with St. John's and Xavier.

Next up, the Huskies finish with four home games this week beginning with the final midweek contest of the season against Northeastern on Tuesday, May 12 at 6:05 p.m.

The Huskies have won seven-straight BIG EAST contests and won eight-straight BIG EAST road games.
UConn is 18-1 against Seton Hall since returning to the BIG EAST in 2021.
