UConn Posts Strong Performances at Home

COVENTRY, Conn. -Â The UConn rowing team delivered a strong all-around performance this morning in competition against Sacred Heart and Marist, highlighted by multiple first-place finishes across varsity and second varsity boats.
Racing in mostly favorable conditions, with early fog lifting to flat water and a light crosswind, the Huskies set the tone early. The Third Varsity Eight opened the day with a win over Sacred Heart's varsity crew and Marist, establishing early momentum for UConn.
The Varsity Eight followed with a competitive race, finishing second behind Marist while continuing to show speed against tough competition. UConn responded quickly in the next event, as the Second Varsity Eight secured a decisive victory.
In the fours, UConn continued its success. The Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four each captured wins in their respective races. The Third Varsity Four also competed in the same event, finishing third overall and ahead of Marist.
"It was another great day of racing on Coventry Lake," said head coach Jennifer Sanford. "We couldn't have asked for better conditions. I'm so proud of the team and their efforts, and can't wait to keep the momentum going into the Knecht Cup."Â
Overall, the Huskies put together a strong team performance, demonstrating depth and consistency across the lineup as they continue to build momentum this season.
