STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (12-14) returned home a lost 8-3 to Quinnipiac on Wednesday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark.
The victory for the Bobcats ended an eight-game win streak for the Huskies against Quinnipiac.Â
Cam Righi was one of the few offensive bright spots for the Huskies with a three-hit performance that included his fourth home run of the season.
UConn went 1-10 with runners in scoring position on Wednesday with the lone hit an RBI single from Nater Wachter in the fourth inning.Â
The Huskies threw seven pitchers on the day with Austin Trumpour making his first start as a Husky. Trumpour pitched 3.2 innings and allowed a three-run home run to Alex Irizarry in the third inning.Â
Drew Smith and Joe Talarico both came out of the pen and tossed a scoreless inning.
Next up, the Huskies begin BIG EAST Conference play on Friday, March 27 at 3:05 p.m. against Xavier at Elliot Ballpark.Â
