Huskies Finish Eighth at Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational

NAPA, Calif. – The UConn men's golf team concluded the 2026 Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, finishing in eighth place in the 14 team field.
The Huskies finished -5 with a three-round total of 859, one stroke behind Eastern Michigan in seventh place, and eight strokes behind sixth place finisher, Cal Poly. The BYU Cougars earned the team title, finishing with a score of 810 (-54).
The Huskies shot a 287 (-1) in round one to open the invitational. In the second round on Monday, UConn posted a 289 (+1). The Huskies bounced back with a strong third round on Tuesday, shooting their best score of the invitational at 283 (-5), securing a top ten finish.
Junior Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT) delivered a strong performance for the Huskies finishing tied for 5th on the leaderboard at -7. Sawka shot two-under par (70) in the opening two days of the invitational. He rounded out the weekend shooting three-under par (69) in his third round, to finish at 209.
A trio of Huskies finished tied for 30th at -1 in the event. Sophomores Caden Blanchette (Manchester, PA) and Kai-Jun Huang (Taipei, Taiwan), along with freshman Brennan Korn (Scottsdale, AZ) each finished with a score of 215 across their three rounds.
Rounding out the Huskies lineup was Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) in 61st place with a score of 223 (71-79-73), senior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT) in 67th place, shooting a score of 224 (73-77-74), and freshman Matthew Oliveira (Dartmouth, MA) in 77th place, posting a score of 236 (80-77-79).
UConn is back in action on April 6-8 for the Golfweek Stifel Spring Challenge at True Blue Golf Club in Pawley's Island, South Carolina.
