UConn Headed to Ohio for Moraine Intercollegiate

STORRS, CT – The UConn men's golf team jumps back in action this week playing in the Moraine Intercollegiate hosted by Miami University on Monday and Tuesday, October 12-13.
The Huskies will take part in the 36-hole tournament being held at the Moraine Country Club in Kettering, OH. UConn will feature in a field that includes the host RedHawks, VCU, Dayton, Xavier, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Sam Houston, Rhode Island, George Mason, Minnesota, UAB, Ohio, Wright State, Jacksonville State and Penn State. UConn is coming off an appearance at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational where they finished sixth in a 16 team field. Junior Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) led the way with his second top-20 finish of the season. He was +3 (219) for the tournament, his lowest three-round score of the year, to tie for 16th.
Costello will lead this week's lineup into the Moraine. Rounding out the Husky five will be fifth-year Justin Burroughs (Pensacola, FL), sophomore Brennan Korn (Flagstaff, AZ), junior Kai-Jun Huang (Taipei, Taiwan) and freshman Yves Koller (Zurich, Switzerland). Sophomore Brayden Jenard (Jupitar, FL) will play as an individual.
Through four events this fall, Huang owns the lowest average on the team at 73.6, just edging out Korn at 73.7. Huang owns the lowest round of the season thus far, a 66 at The Goat, an event he won. Burroughs is coming off his lowest three-round tournament score of the season, a 220 that placed him tied for 21st at last week's event.
Following this week's tournament the Huskies will be off until the end of October when they close out the fall portion of the schedule in Maui, HI for the annual Ka'anapali Collegiate Invitational.
