Five Huskies Earn NABC All-District Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The UConn men's basketball quartet of Solo Ball, Silas Demary Jr., Alex Karaban and Tarris Reed Jr. have been named First Team All-District in the Mid Atlantic region, as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Tuesday (March 17). Freshman Braylon Mullins was also named to the Second Team. The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
The four First Team NABC All-District selections are the most of any program in the country. The five total honorees are also tops in Division I.
The four First Team Huskies were also All-BIG EAST picks, announced earlier this month by the league's coaches. Demary Jr.(10.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 6.2 apg), Karaban (12.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.3 apg) and Reed Jr. (13.7 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.3 apg, 2.1 bpg, 62.5 FG%) were First Team All-Conference picks, while Ball (13.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.1 3fgm/g) was a Second Team selection. UConn became the first team in league history with three First Team picks. Mullins (12.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 2.2 3fgm/g) was a unanimous selection to the league's All-Freshman Team.
UConn returns to action on Friday in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament playing as the two-seed in the East Regional where it will face 15-seed Furman in Philadelphia in late night action.
