Huskies Drop Game Two Against Marshall

TALLAHASSEE – Fla. – The UConn softball team fell to Marshall, 10-1 on Friday morning at the JoAnne Graf Classic in Tallahassee, Florida.
Marshall powered their way past the Huskies with four home runs, while UConn managed just one run on six hits, leaving 11 runners stranded on base.
Caprice Bohmer (Ashburn, Va.) made her first career start for the Huskies in the circle in game two of the 2026 season. Bohmer went 3.0 innings giving up seven runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
Marshall jumped out to an early lead on a pair of home runs in the first and second innings, putting the Huskies down, 3-0.
Savannah Ring (Wyckoff, N.J.) got the Huskies offense on the board in the bottom of the second inning with a double off the center field wall, scoring Haley Coupal from first base, making it 3-1.
Marshall responded right back in the third inning with a two-run home run, extending their lead to 5-1.
Sydnee Koosh (Canton, Ohio) came on in relief for Bohmer in the middle of the fourth inning, making her first appearance of the season. Koosh closed out the rest of the game in the circle, going 4.0 innings giving up three runs on six hits, adding a strikeout.
Marshall added to their lead in the fourth inning with three insurance runs to make it 8-1.
The Huskies offense had opportunities in the fifth and sixth innings, but were unable to capitalize, stranding the bases loaded in both innings.
In the seventh inning, Marshall once again extended their lead with the long ball, as the Herd hit a two-run homer, pushing their advantage to 10-1.
