Huskies Ready to Play The Goat

STORRS, CT – The UConn men's golf team returns to play this weekend as they head to Annapolis, MD to take part in The Goat hosted by Navy.
The Huskies are one of 16 teams in the field that will compete in the three round tournament at the Naval Academy Golf Club. Play gets underway on Saturday, September 20 on the par 71, 7,025 yard course with the first two rounds and concludes with the final round on Sunday, September 21.
The UConn lineup of junior Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT), sophomore Caden Blanchette (Manchester, PA), senior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT), sophomore Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) and sophomore Kai-Jun Huang (Taipei, Taiwan).
They will compete in a field that includes the host Midshipmen along with BIG EAST foes Georgetown and Seton Hall as well as Binghamton, Bucknell, Colgate, Columbia, George Mason, George Washington, Harvard, Howard, Lafayette, Le Moyne, Loyola Maryland, and William & Mary.
This is the second tournament of the young season for the Huskies. UConn tied for fourth in their first outing, The Metropolis Invitational. The Huskies were led by Sawka and Blanchette who both found themselves in the top-10 at the end of the tournament.
Sawka finished in fifth place with a final score of 215 (+5) after consistent rounds of 71 (+1), 72 (+2), and 72 (+2). It was his third career top-10 finish. Blanchette had his best outing of his young UConn career, notching his first career top-10 finish by shooting 217 (+7) to tie for eighth.
