STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team (1-1) returns to Morrone Stadium for a Thursday night match against the Brown Bears (2-0) at 7 p.m. and can be seen for Free on UConn+.  Fans should be aware that this year there will be $10 (cash only) parking in I Lot (adjacent to the stadium).Â
The Huskies are coming off a physical match on the road in College Station in front of the 10th-largest regular season crowd in women's soccer history (6,857). The Huskies were defeated, 2-1, on a late second half goal from the Aggies with under five minutes left in regulation.
Kaitlyn Richins scored her first career goal at UConn, a free kick from just inside midfield. The graduate student launched it over the Aggies goalkeeper to even to match at 1-1 in the late stages of the first half. The goal was the No. 10 play on SportsCenter Top 10 plays the following day.Â
UConn is 1-0 at the friendly confines of Morrone Stadium after a 1-0 victory against Stony Brook in the season opener. Chioma Okafor and Richins are tied for the team lead with one goal a piece.Â
Brown is 2-0 on the season with victories against New Haven and Rhode Island. Joy Okonye leads the team with five points and is tied with Ayla Sahin with both scoring a pair of goals. Brown missed out on the NCAA Tournament last year after making it to four-straight NCAA Tournaments
