Three Huskies Punch Ticket to NCAA Track & Field Championships; 18 Secure First Round Qualification

STORRS, Conn.- After completing another dual indoor/outdoor season sweep of the BIG EAST Championships, 20 members of the UConn men's and women's track and field teams will continue their season at the NCAA East First Round Regional next week. The top 48 declared student-athletes were accepted into the first-round competitions for each individual event.  The four-day event will be hosted by the University of North Florida at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. Josh Mooney, Diarmuid O'Connor and Maresa Hense were all accepted into the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon that take place from June 11th- June 14th as combined event athletes. For combined events, the top 24 declared student-athletes in each event based on their position on the national descending-order list will be directly accepted into the Championships.
The following UConn student-athletes were accepted into the first-round competition that takes place from Wednesday, May 28th to Saturday, May 31st.Â
