Emi Erekosima Named BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week

STORRS, Conn.- Graduate student jumper Emi Erekosima has been named BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Erekosima won the triple jump competition with a 15.23m performance at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge in his return to his alma mater, Penn State.

Erekosima leads the BIG EAST in the triple jump in the indoor season, with a season-best 15.44m performance at the 2026 Penn Elite Meet on January 24^th. Erekosima's performance ranks ninth all-time in UConn program history. In his UConn debut, Erekosima won the triple jump at the Harvard Classic at 15.00m.

The Huskies return to action this weekend in Boston, Clemson, and Fayettville, Arkansas.
