Huskies Set for BIG EAST Tournament with matchup vs. Old Dominion

STORRS, Conn – The UConn women's field hockey team is set for a matchup against no.3 Old Dominion in the BIG EAST TOURNAMENT hosted by Liberty. The match is set to begin at 4pm and can be streamed live on ESPN+.
The reigning BIG EAST Champions are the no.2 overall seed after posting a 10-7 overall record and a 6-1 record in BIG EAST action. Liberty secured the no.1 overall seed followed by the Huskies and Old Dominion and then Villanova as the no.4 overall seed.
UConn and Old Dominion faced off Oct. 24 in Storrs which ended in a double OT victory for the Huskies. Between the other matchup, the Huskies defeated Villanova by a final of 2-1 Sept. 19 and fell to Liberty by a final of 1-0 Sept. 26.
Leading the way for the Huskies is Senior Sol Simone. Simone the BIG EAST Co-Midfielder of the year has three goals and nine assists for 15 total points. Senior Julia Bressler who was named to the All-Big East second team leads the Huskies with six total goals.
The BIG EAST Tournament can be streamed live on ESPN+. The Championship game will take place on Sunday Nov. 9 at Liberty.
