STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team (8-3-4) is set to host the Butler Bulldogs at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium on Saturday, November 1. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. UConn will honor ten seniors before the match, beginning at 6:30pm. TICKETS
UConn is currently tied for third place in the East Division with ten points with two critical conference matches remaining. Butler is on seven points with a 2-3-1 record in conference play, putting the Bulldogs in third place in the Midwest Division. FULL STANDINGS
UConn is coming off a scoreless draw at Providence a week ago and are unbeaten in their last two matches. The Huskies defense has been a cornerstone of their success this season, ranking among the nation's top 50 in shutout percentage (0.467) and team goals against average (1.000). Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Durham has anchored the back line this season, leading the BIG EAST in both save percentage (0.835), and saves per game (5.07). Durham's seven clean sheets rank 16th nationally.
A Look at Butler
The Butler Bulldogs (5-9-1) are coming off a 3-1 loss against Creighton a week ago. Before the loss to Creighton, Butler went unbeaten in four straight matches. The Bulldogs are coached by Paul Snape entering his 15th season. Butler was selected to finish in fourth place in the Midwest Division in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bulldogs have been led this season by freshman forward Aiden Benitez with 12 points (4 goals, 4 assists).
Series History
Butler leads the all-time series, 2-1. These two programs met last season in Indianapolis. UConn defeated Butler, 1-0 with a second half goal from Scott Testori. Before that, Butler had bested the Huskies in the only other previous two matchups, defeating UConn in Storrs in 2022 and in Indianapolis in 2021.
